Blue Font Communications was launched byRebecca Levy in 2024 to advance the work of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations through communications, marketing and development initiatives that create impact and establish and deepen relationships with key constituencies. A results-driven leader with 25-plus years of experience, Rebecca’s background includes senior communications, marketing, and advancement roles across higher education and the non-profit sector, as well as in public relations and journalism. Her career includes positions at the University of Washington, UC Santa Cruz, Palo Alto University, and prominent media outlets such as Good Morning America and California and Aspen magazines.
With a team of seasoned collaborators, Blue Font Communications offers a wide range of services, including internal and external communications, marketing and branding, public and media relations, stakeholder engagement, event production, development campaigns, and project management. Together, Rebecca and her team are dedicated to telling your organization’s story and empowering your mission.
About Rebecca Levy
A graduate of UC Santa Barbara and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Rebecca began her career as a journalist, serving as the managing editor of California and Aspen Magazines and as a producer for ABC’s Good Morning America. She spent several years managing public relations programs for a Seattle-based public relations agency and at several start-up companies before moving into higher education at the University Washington. There she managed communications and marketing programs as well as large scale events. From 2008 to 2017, Rebecca served as Campaign Director at UC Santa Cruz, leading the planning, launch and implementation of the campus’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign. The eight-year campaign exceeded its $300 million fundraising goal.
Most recently Rebecca was Director of External Affairs at Palo Alto University, where she created the University’s External Affairs Department. Under her leadership, the department grew to include marketing and communications, public relations, alumni relations, events, enrollment marketing and community relations functions. During her six-year tenure, she led the development and launch of a university-wide brand initiative, supported the launch of a new University website and increased constituent engagement through production and marketing of 20-plus external events, a monthly newsletter, social media, podcasts, and webinars. She also led the relaunch of PAU’s alumni program, which significantly increased alumni participation.
Rebecca’s career has taken her to Los Angeles, New York, Aspen, Seattle. She currently resides along California’s central coast in Santa Cruz County.
